June and July have been fun months for us here in Wisconsin. Fresh produce bursts into season, the days stretch, and it's just simply a magical time and place. On top of that we've been plenty busy with new coffees and new customers. All great things!
Team Ruby recently took a day trip to Door County (past Green Bay on a peninsula into Lake Michigan) for a little R & R and cherry restocking. On the way we stopped in to see two new customers in the Appleton area- Seth's Coffee and All Seasons Coffeehouse. Both are doing a great job bringing quality coffee to our part of the state and we're ecstatic to be working with them!
On the coffee roasting front we've seen lots of comings and goings. It's fresh Kenya and Ethiopia season so of course you're seeing loads of them hit our menu (and we couldn't be more excited!). Kenya Kirinyaga Kawmangi peaberry was our featured Kenya for June and part of July; now we're moving on to Kenya Nyeri Rukira.
After that we'll have a few more from Nyeri and we will also be (re)releasing Kawmangi pb's cousin: an AB lot. From Ethiopia we recently launched our Aramo (hitting the site soon), which is another Yirgacheffe coffee that is particularly balanced and floral. So delicious.
Last, but absolutely not least, we have our first direct trade coffee en route!! We're so thrilled to soon offer a coffee from Nicaragua Finca Mama Mina! I've visited the Mierisch Family a handful of times in Nicaragua and have known them for about five years. We love all our coffees and always seek transparency and traceability as much as possible, but this one is especially near and dear to my heart. Check out their website for more info on the farms and the crew: Fincas Mierisch. One of these days I'll have to post of pic of my Fincas Mierisch logo belt buckle!!
That's all for now! Hope you're enjoying your summer (or winter) wherever you are!
