With a near constant state of political strife in Burundi, farming coffee can be difficult. While it presents an opportunity for creating a more sustainable lifestyle for people in rural areas, oftentimes staying at the farms or traveling to the washing station could put people in harm’s way. The commitment between the farmers of Munyinya to consistently improve cherry quality and the investment in education and outreach that Long Miles has placed on the community has built a long-standing, supportive relationship that hopefully will stand through the roughest times and support farmers.

Elevation: 1700-2100 meters
Processing: 12 hour dry fermentation, then 12 hour wet fermentation, fully washed, dried on raised beds
