Founded by Eric Jarra, working from his experiences with the Santuario farmers’ group, Alpes Andino now has 150 producer members. Though the group has only been around since 2019, Alpes Andino has decades of collected knowledge from members, and one of its main goals is spreading that information to every member.
In the jungles of Peru, coffee farming can be tricky. The elevation and natural biodiversity provide an amazing environment for coffee growing, however, it can be very difficult to organize the general logistics of getting coffees out of the farms and to the ports. By banding together in a larger organization, the farmer members of Alpes Andino now have a great system for coffee transportation and marketing.
Rosalia Jimenez is one of the coffee producers of Alpes Andino. Like most other members, her farm has it’s own drying patio and solar drier, which means she can process her coffee from start to finish on site. This allows the Alpes Andino group the ability to showcase unique individual farmers’ lots.
We’re excited to work with Alpes Andino and to be able to feature Rosalia's coffee. By being able to market her own coffee individually, Rosalia is able to make a higher premium for her coffees and establish stronger relationships with coffee roasters.
