Our subscription selections this month are two Colombian coffees: Aguacate and Ignacio Quintero! Those of you enjoying a Roaster’s Choice subscription will be receiving both of them, and you’ll have the opportunity to appreciate the wide range of character that Colombian coffees have to offer.
Bright and Lively subscribers, get ready for a Ruby classic: Aguacate. With a lighter body, tangy acidity, and citrusy, sugary, slightly floral notes, this coffee doesn’t cease to impress us year after year. You can anticipate that it’ll be a dynamic cup to enjoy on a crisp, sunny spring morning with the promise of warm days to come.
In contrast to longtime Ruby favorite Aguacate, Ignacio Quintero for Rich and Sweet subscribers is a more novel offering that Ruby has had just once before, in 2016. This coffee got our attention this year with its super smooth body, and notes of rich dark chocolate and sweet cherry. If you’re not quite ready for winter to be done, or simply prefer melt-in-your-mouth chocolate feels throughout the warmer seasons, this coffee delivers in the rich and sweet category.
These two coffees are very different not only in taste, but also in the history that we have with each of them. Aguacate was among the very first coffees that Jared sourced for Ruby, back in Ruby’s birth year, 2013. This year will mark the 11th year with Aguacate on our menu! In contrast, Ignacio Quintero is returning to our menu for only the second time, making it an exciting novelty, perfect for all the freshness and rejuvenation that comes along with spring.
